ARCHITECTURE JOBS FAQs

Architectural firms employ a range of different professionals, not just architects. Architectural Technologists are needed, to turn designs into sustainable constructions, and also BIM managers, who are responsible for implementing building information modelling. Other members of the team include interior designers, space planners and design managers

Qualifying as an architect usually requires five years study at university and two years of practical experience. It is beneficial to either have a diploma in Architectural Technology or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture.   

An Architect can earn up to $110,000 in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. An Architectural Technologist’s salary ranges between $65,000 and $85,000 in the same locations while a Senior Architectural Technologist can earn up to $115,000 in Calgary, Edmonton and GTA.
