Hays has partnered with a mid-sized national real estate firm who are looking for a Vice President of Construction based in the Greater Toronto Area. They focus on the development and acquisition of mixed use residential and some ICI real estate. They have become a leader in their respective market and set the stage for their respective client's success with award-winning properties.

Your new role

The open role is for a Vice President of Construction reporting to the head of the organization and managing the construction team, including the growth of it. Most importantly, they will have responsibility for the successful reconstruction, planning, execution, close-out and handover of all projects. They will hire the necessary individuals required for the company to self-perform their projects eventually and ensure that all processes and procedures are in place to do so. You will be a valued addition to the team and collaborate with the other members of Senior Leadership internally and all consultants externally, mentoring and developing the careers of your construction staff. You will also formulate contingency plans, including mitigating and resolving risk factors in a timely manner.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful Vice President of Construction will have ample experience in leading the execution and completion of mid to high rise construction projects in Canada. They will have experience building a construction team and can represent the construction division at executive meetings and with their respective clientele. They will have a role up your sleeve mentality with the ability to do more in a smaller team environment, yet have the corporate experience to build a team for a company in full growth mode. This individual must be an effective communicator, have the desired leadership traits and be well-rounded in construction.
