Looking for UX Designer in Toronto, ON for contract role
Title:- UX Designer – Senior
Location:- Toronto, ON
Duration: 6 Months Contract with possible extension
Descriptions:
UX Designer Financial is seeking a talented product designer to join our User Experience team. You will be responsible for creating remarkable digital experiences for a variety of audiences to support our business in Canada. You will work collaboratively with fellow members of the product team to conceptualize design and prototype ideas for implementation on the web. We are seeking an innovative, client-obsessed designer who can combine user research and sound interaction design principles to help continue to refine the digital experience for Sun Life group benefits sponsors.
Responsibilities
• Apply user-centred design principles to influence project strategy and direction
• Advocate for data-driven design solutions for web
• Collaborate with senior designers to support UX strategy - be an evangelist for UX practices across the company
• Create distinctive digital experiences that are efficient and consistent across multiple platforms, devices and channels
• Contribute to the development of user scenarios, personas, user flows, design concepts, low and high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, UI standards documents, and other design documents as needed
• Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions
• Actively collaborate as part of the team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
• Track user experience metrics and analytics, including reporting on the success of UX improvements
• Ensure standards and best practices are appropriately communicated and documented Project ownership
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of user needs and problems to be solved
• Manage user experience deliverables as required to ensure expectations are successfully met
• Produce annotated wireframes, design specs and other documentation as needed within specified timelines
• Ensure proposed workflows reflect advisor needs and maintain consistency across features/platforms
• Determine the need for user research and user testing; then help coordinate and execute the process
• Review, interpret, and share research findings with project teams, helping to build a shared understanding of advisor needs and pain points
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in user-centered design and user experience
• University degree or certification in User Experience, or equivalent work experience
• Portfolio demonstrating impactful user experiences, and showing your process for solving design problems
• Design experience ranging across web and mobile (mobile web and native applications)
• Experience designing wireframes and interactive prototypes using Figma
• Experience working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms
• Knowledge of current accessibility standards/best practices
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of a design choice to users and non-designer stakeholders.
• Strong presentation skills, with an ability to advocate for user needs based on qualitative feedback and quantitative data.
• Knowledge of current web standards and the latest trends
• Creative problem-solving abilities with the ability to think analytically about complex problems
• Able to produce high-quality creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Passionate about problem solving through design
• Strong sense of ownership and proactively advocates for the end user
• Open to taking on new challenges and learning new skills
• Collaborative, curious, empathetic, open-minded, innovative
• Prior financial services experience an asset
• Basic understanding of front-end web development an asset (HTML, CSS, JS, etc.)
• Experience working with the Pega CRM Suite is a plus
