Your new role
As the Senior Project Manager/Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our projects, reporting directly to the President. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop mechanical design strategies for building construction in collaboration with the president to ensure efficient and sustainable project delivery.
- Actively participate in all projects during both design and construction phases.
- Foster strong relationships with project managers, engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel.
- Coordinate the preparation of engineering specifications and drawings, as well as quantity and cost estimates.
- Ensure that drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards.
- Develop standards related to mechanical engineering practices, ensuring best practices for project delivery and sustainable building construction when applicable.
- Utilize industry-specific software and related technologies in design and analysis.
- Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, and monitor project progress, making adjustments as needed.
- Manage all aspects of contract administration and client services monitoring.
- Engage with various agencies for project approvals and permitting purposes when necessary.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A university degree or college diploma in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in buildings, consulting, mechanical design engineering or equivalent experience and responsibilities.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with AutoCAD drafting; knowledge of Revit is considered an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise.
- Excellent communication, time management, multitasking, and detail orientation skills.
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Enjoy working in a professional office environment, with occasional client and site visits
