A large organization in Downtown Vancouver is looking to add a Receptionist to their team.
Your new role
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Receptionist to join our national team. The successful candidate will be welcoming, professional, and friendly.
- Welcome in-person arrivals/in-bound telephone calls, greeting each person quickly in a friendly and professional manner;
- Be a part of a community workplace dedicated to knowing and supporting all professionals;
- Communicate clearly and professionally;
- Stay updated on anticipated bookings and events;
- Proactively address and resolve any issues that arise;
- Possess and display a strong client service attitude;
- Manage the firm’s event management system in coordination with the national team;
- Maintain attendee logs;
- Ensure confidentiality and security for all users of the space;
- Keep accurate documentation for reporting and service;
- Assist with logistics and scheduling special events;
- Foster strong client relationships related to the use of the Conference Centre;
- Keep up to date on firm changes and people to support client requests professionally and efficiently;
- Adhere to catering, security, health, and safety policies;
- Activate and follow emergency protocols as required and report security matters to management;
- Be actively involved in the maintenance and care of the Conference Centre; and
- Work closely with other departments to create a comfortable working environment
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum of High School Diploma;
- 3–5 years of related experience in a similar role;
- Professional certification and/or experience in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel management;
- Fluent in English;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service focus;
- Strong professional demeanour and appearance;
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office;
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines;
- Effective problem-solving skills, discretion, and patience;
- Strong process orientation and ability to recommend improvements; and
- Critical thinking skills for day-to-day decisions
