Hays Construction & Development has partnered with a mid-sized ICI GC in Ottawa to recruit for the role of Project Manager! They have been a successful company for decades, and they are in a planned growth phase over the next several years and need help to do that!

Are you an experienced professional in the ICI construction sector? Our client is seeking a highly skilled candidate with a minimum of ten years of experience in this field. Projects include both new builds and renovations and or addition style projects.

There have been many Institutional and Commercial repeat clients over the years, so there is a constant flow of new projects on the go.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates superior leadership, motivational, and mentoring skills, along with strong management, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in French is preferred.

The ideal candidate will hold a professional engineering degree (P. Eng), a Gold Seal Certificate (GSC), or a project management certificate (PMP). Advanced scheduling skills using MS Project or Primavera P6 are essential.

Candidates must have excellent knowledge of the greater Ottawa market and its key players. Direct project management or site supervision experience on large ICI projects valued at least $5-10M and higher.

The candidate should be service and results-oriented, capable of reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. Eligibility for security clearances and a valid driver’s license are necessary.

Additionally, the candidate should have superior working knowledge of the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
