Your new role:


My client, a confidential organization in Burlington, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. In your new role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll to ensure smooth operations. You will assist with the day-to-day payroll functions, ensuring that payroll is processed on time and without errors. This includes verifying and reconciling employee hours, calculating pay, managing payroll data into the accounting system, and resolving differences related to pay rates. Additionally, you will work closely with HR and Workforce Planning to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with union agreements and company policies. Key responsibilities include verifying and reconciling employee hours using scheduling/time management software, and ensuring accurate pay calculations. Processing biweekly payroll, including time adjustments, pay rate corrections, and direct deposit details. Handling year-end filings, including T4s, WSIB/WCB, and employee RRSP contributions. Submitting Record of Employment (ROE) forms and providing support for payroll-related inquiries. Coordinating with HR on benefits, wage changes, and status updates. Managing union remittances and monthly reporting requirements. Assisting with payroll-related research, analysis, and reporting.



What you will need to succeed:
What you will need to succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in payroll processing and be comfortable in a manual setting. A keen eye for detail is essential, as well as the ability to reconcile data and address discrepancies efficiently. You should be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly HR , to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Proficiency in Excel for payroll analysis and reporting is also essential.
