Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for an Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join their growing production team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, committing to high quality innovative design on all. As an Intermediate Architectural Technologist you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types. Your new role

In your role, your duties and responsibilities will include: leading, developing, preparing, and reviewing Design Development Drawings (DD) and Contract Documents and specifications. Working on projects from design to construction alongside interior designers and architects. Prepare detailed drawings, in accordance with industry standards and code requirements. Dealing directly with the production and coordination of documents in collaboration with your colleagues as well as external consultants to prepare high quality coordinated documents, research and compile construction materials. Communicate with clients throughout the design process to share updates and answer questions while understanding and adhering to project goals set out by the client. Assist with resolving difficult operating tasks or drawing production problems. Reviewing details in documents for conformance with design as well as implement meeting objectives and provide project documentation. Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology. Understanding and adhering to the fees and resources available for each project.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program. Ideally you will possess 5+ years of local experience and have previous experience working on similar project typology to the firm. You will be proficient with the following platforms: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe & Sketch-Up. You will have high proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing. You will possess sound knowledge of local buildings codes and bylaws. Registration, LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement.

What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $65,000 - $75,000 + bonus (based on performance) extended benefits, paid parking and flexible work hours.
