Job Title: Electrical Project Manager/Estimator – ICI Sector
Location: Cambridge, ON (SW Ontario)
Salary: Approximately $120,000 base (negotiable based on experience)

The Role:
Seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join the team. This dual role requires a professional who can effectively manage electrical construction projects from conception to completion, while also possessing strong skills in preparing accurate and competitive project estimates. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and financial success of our electrical projects within the ICI sector. This position offers a hybrid work model, with the flexibility of working from well-equipped job site trailers when on project locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
    • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Manage on-site activities, including supervision of site personnel and adherence to safety protocols.
    • Monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and contract specifications.
    • Prepare project reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Estimating:
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects in the ICI sector.
    • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive material take-offs and labour estimates.
    • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
    • Develop and submit competitive and complete bid proposals.
    • Collaborate with the project team during the post-tender phase to ensure a smooth transition from estimate to project execution.
    • Maintain a current understanding of market rates for materials, labour, and equipment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management and estimating within the ICI construction sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and estimating electrical projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and current Canadian and Ontario electrical codes and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with estimating software and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Accubid or similar).
  • Relevant post-secondary education in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A background as a licensed Electrician (e.g., 309A or 442A) would be a significant asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid G driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
