Our client, an award-winning, full-service Design/Build firm for custom residential projects, is looking for a Design & Project Development Manager to joint their team in office near Peterborough, ON . You will join a reputable, well-established company who are known for the exceptional design and quality of their projects. The company prides themselves on the fun, creative atmosphere they have cultivated over the years, and are looking for a motivated, team player to step into this critical role.
Your new role
This position is responsible for the oversight and development of the Design, Estimating and Project Development teams, and will work to ensure projects are on budget, on time, and meet client expectations, creating an exceptional experience for both clients and employees. You will lead a team of 2 Designers and 3 Project Developers, and will play a pivotal role in their personal development by providing appropriate technical or functional development and performance feedback, and mentoring. Responsibilities of the role include spearheading the design of custom residential projects, leading the planning, implementation and scheduling of projects in consultation with the management team, ensuring all drawings produced by the team are complete & accurate, and ensuring 100% adherence to all phases of design/development, including schedule, milestones and GP%.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate has a diploma or combined academic background/experience in architecture, engineering, or construction, and business/project management, and at least 10 years of progressive experience in residential design, project/people management. Thorough knowledge of OBC and OHSA, and previous experience designing in Revit is required. BCIN certification is preferred. On a personal level, the ideal candidate has excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and employees, and maintains a positive attitude to change and continuous improvement.
