Your new role

This role provides effective construction coordination services to the CCM Phase 1 Project in accordance with client’s Project management principles of Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost. This role is primarily an individual contributor role that provides support to the Underground Construction Lead. This role adds value by monitoring conditions in the field (Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost) that could adversely affect the effective execution of Projects and recommends corrective actions as required for successful completion of the Project.

The Construction Coordinator works collaterally with his/her peers in the Project Team and cross functionally with all other areas of the operations to execute the overall construction plan developed by the Construction Manager and his/her team.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Attend contractor’s morning lineup and ensure all applicable communications, hazard alerts, etc. have been passed on to contractor’s employees from contractor supervisor.
  • Perform daily site visits to each construction site assigned to the construction coordinator wherever possible given logistical constraints.
  • Review lessons learned (HIPOT report) from Ontario Operations and, where applicable, implement new best practices.
  • Conduct at least one formal Workplace Audit / Safety Inspection per week.
  • Ensure Contractor provided Project Specific Safety plans are adequate for the safe performance of the work, audit for compliance and recommend follow up actions as required.
  • Participate in, and where required, facilitate Process Hazard Reviews (PHR) and audit for compliance.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings.
  • Participate in bid reviews.
  • Issue Field Work Instructions (FWI’s) for changes out of scope.
  • Performs check estimates on FWI’s, delays, and claims submitted by others.
  • In conjunction with the Project Engineer, reviews proposed design/construction changes.
