Job Opportunity for an Interior Designer with a well-known firm in Vancouver offering Hybrid Work!

Your new company

Your new company has offices in Downtown Vancouver and Victoria, they provides a full range of architectural, planning and interior design services. With more than forty years of practice in Western Canada, the firm is widely recognized for expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, office and senior health-care projects. They are dedicated to high quality design, exceptional client service and the incorporation of sustainable design principles in their projects.

Your new role

In this role, you will be assisting with and preparing design and construction drawings, specifications, details and sketches for all phases of projects. You will be joining a team where you will be assisting in the management, coordination and the preparation of development and construction drawing packages for a number of projects. You will be responsible for small projects/facets and of large projects with minimal supervision. You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and continue to grow your skills.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of local experience. You will have completion of a certified Interior Design program in a professionally recognized institution; Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design would be an asset. You will have prior professional experience with office space planning and commercial/office tenant improvement, experience with multi-family residential projects would be an asset. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to prepare and assemble drawing packages for the above noted construction types, from Design concept, BP, Tender, and to IFC. You will have demonstrated ability to prepare interior design and millwork details. You will have proficient software skills in Autocad and Sketchup. Revit and Enscape experience an asset. You will have the ability to effectively communicate & coordinate with Senior Project Designer, Project Architect, Clients and Consultants. The successful candidate will have experience with preparing relevant documentation, coordinating consultant’s drawing packages and submitting building permit application packages in various municipalities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting, excellent communication skills in English. (both written and oral). You will have proficient time management skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
