Job Title: Controller
Location: Ottawa (On-site)
Salary: $130,000

We’re looking for a Controller to join our client’s growing Property Management organization. This is a leadership position responsible for managing all accounting functions across corporate, property, and construction divisions, serving as a key contributor in guiding the company’s financial operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enhance financial operations, including internal controls, accounting systems, budgeting, billing, and reconciliations across all business units.
  • Oversee financial reporting and forecasting, deliver monthly reports, cash flow analysis, and long-term financial models to support strategic planning.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development and ensuring effective departmental performance.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management, coordinating with external advisors, legal counsel, and lenders to meet financial, tax, and reporting standards.
  • Direct comprehensive accounting functions, including corporate, property, and construction finances, while maintaining strong banking relationships and supporting debt and equity management.


Qualifications:

  • Min. 10 years of accounting experience (significant exposure to property accounting), with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Familiarity with property management and accounting platforms such as Yardi.
