A boutique architectural practice specializing in residential, hospitality and commercial projects is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their team. Your new role

In your role, your duties and responsibilities will include: overseeing the technical drawing phase, producing and coordinating high-quality construction documents in Revit, and supporting contract administration and site review processes. You will ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and AHJ requirements, and develop technical solutions and responses as needed. The role involves direct communication with clients, contractors, and consultants, and close collaboration with senior design architects and small, cohesive project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Candidates must be fluent in Revit, proficient in detailing atypical conditions, and experienced with mid-rise steel, concrete, and wood construction in Canada. You should be capable of independently executing construction documents and coordinating sub-consultants, while remaining hands-on with drawing production. Experience managing junior staff is a plus, though not required. We seek individuals from design-forward firms who are looking to contribute to and elevate our high standards in a boutique studio environment, with exposure to diverse project scales and typologies.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have minimum of 8 years’ experience as an architectural technologist, local experience is strongly preferred. Prior commercial, residential and/ or hospitality project experience is required. You will have an Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent and LEED AP is considered a strong asset. You must have strong proficiency in Revit. Experience of executing on construction documents without supervision is required. Sound knowledge of local building codes and bylaws is a must.
