Your new company

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a non profit organization located in Toronto, ON. We are looking to hire a Bookkeeper to join their team on a contract basis of 8 weeks, which has the possibility of extension. This candidate will be working from their Office on a full time basis.

Your new role

• Validate vendor invoices by cross-referencing purchase orders and delivery confirmations to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile discrepancies between ordered, received, and invoiced items, particularly for equipment and supply purchases.
• Monitor and track procurement transactions to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to resolve billing issues and ensure timely processing of vendor payments.
• Maintain detailed records of reconciliations and support audit readiness by ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Identify source of variances & report data set for review and analysis.

What you'll need to succeed

• Some post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting reconciliation
• Strong understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and vendor invoice reconciliation.
• Proficiency in MS Office with a strong focus on Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
