Jim Pattison Developments (JPD) is the real estate division of the Jim Pattison Group of Companies (JPG). Reporting to the Property Manager, the Building Operator will take full responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and operations of a Victoria-based portfolio, which includes two retail properties and one commercial office building all within 15 minutes of each other.

In this hands-on role, you’ll perform regular preventative maintenance while responding promptly and professionally to tenant requests to ensure a high level of satisfaction. You’ll troubleshoot and maintain key building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety, and security and ensure everything runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating with contractors and vendors, responding to emergencies, as well as any additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned. Your work plays a vital role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment where tenants can thrive.

The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of initiative, as well as at least two years of experience in commercial building maintenance or building operations. You excel at prioritizing, are self-motivated and detail oriented. You will possess strong interpersonal skills and are capable of working independently as well as with a team. Experience with Angus Anywhere / MRI Angus is an asset. Previous experience in commercial building operations or building maintenance is preferred. You will be required to be on call for any emergencies and have a class 5 BC Driver’s License as well as a vehicle.
