Your new company
Our client is an established Design Build construction firm that has been in existence for over 30 years. They have a considerable portfolio of projects in the commercial and light industrial sectors. The company operates across Ontario and Alberta and has an increasing presence locally here in BC. They see considerable opportunities locally and as such they have plans to follow their clients and establish a permanent presence here in the Lower Mainland. Much of the work undertaken is for blue-chip repeat clients and includes offices, data centers, self-storage facilities, care homes and retail with values of up to $50m. The company also undertakes smaller Tenant Improvement and capital projects.
Your new role
You will support a senior member of the team managing a large commercial project located in Richmond while also helping to manage some smaller TI projects. Over time the vision is that the PC will be able to step up and run TI projects independently, thus developing into a bone fide JPM/PM role. Despite being an established company nationally, they maintain an entrepreneurial spirit and you will gain broader experience than working for a typical General Contractor. The Project Coordinator will operate on a hybrid work schedule. You will have the flexibility to split your time between a project site in Richmond and working from home.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally candidates for consideration will have a relevant technical education such as BCIT ABET program or Engineering. You will have 2-4 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator with a GC locally. Equally important is a desire to learn and perform at a high level. We are open to considering candidates that are on the trajectory of becoming a Junior Project Manager but would be equally keen to chat with a career PC that is happy to remain in that role and excel.
What you'll get in return
In exchange for your hard work and commitment you will have the opportunity to be mentored by an industry expert that takes pride in investing time and developing junior staff. You will have the opportunity to spend time on site and benefit from all the learning that it provides while also having the flexibility to spend half your week working from home.
You will earn a salary of between $60-75K (commensurate with experience) plus you will also receive a discretionary bonus, generous vacation, personal days and extended health and benefits.
