Hays is partnering with a leading organization within the real estate industry. This is a 6- Month Contract Located in Downtown Toronto on a hybrid basis.

Your new role

• Responsible for complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger.
• Manage the organization's financial controls and the preparation of financial reports.
• Answer escalated questions regarding various accounting issues and reports.
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and various other accounting statements or financial reports.
• Review the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
• Evaluate various complex accounting variances, reports, and records.
• Maintain, record, and reconcile billings and accounts receivables.
• Create month-end accounting entries.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Examine financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 7–10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Previous real estate or property management industry experience is a strong asset.
• Completion or working towards a CPA designation
• Previous experience using Yardi, MRI, JDE or related property-specific software
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
