Project Director opportunity to lead a team on a complex institutional project valued at over $100m.

Your new company

Our client is a well-known and trusted General Contractor & Construction Manager based in Western Canada. The company has a diverse portfolio of projects that range from complex structures in the $200m+ range to smaller renovation projects for clients in the commercial, residential, institutional, and special projects sectors. Most of the projects undertaken are on a construction management basis for repeat clients. They take pride in having a friendly, family-oriented environment where staff truly feel like a member of the team rather than just a name on the payroll. The company places a high priority on staff having a healthy work-life balance and this is something they take great pride in. Consequently, they have introduced a permanent hybrid working arrangement.

Your new role

We are seeking a Project Director who knows that building projects and building relationships go hand in hand. The role will focus on establishing the team and managing a complex and large-scale institutional project valued at over $100m located in Vancouver that is due to start in the coming months. Once this project is up and running there will be the opportunity to get involved with other projects as capacity permits. Working collaboratively as part of our award-winning team will provide you with the opportunity to build on your experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be a Project Director who is capable of running a complex institutional project valued at over $100m. Exposure to projects within the healthcare or long-term care sector would be highly advantageous. A high-performing Senior Project Manager that has an excellent track record and feels equipped for the step-up to PD will also be considered on merit. You must be a driven, articulate individual capable of forging positive, lasting relationships both internally, and with external clients, consultants, and trade contractors. You must have strong technical knowledge of construction delivery methods and risk mitigation, and experience leading high-performing teams.

What you'll get in return

The position offers a very clear route to advancement into a more senior operational position. The compensation package will be suitably positioned to attract an industry top performer. This will include a very attractive base salary of $180-225K, vehicle allowance, RSP matching, hybrid working flexibility, generous vacation, and an appealing bonus plan. The company is very busy and has a considerable backlog across various sectors for the coming years and as such the position offers favourable job security relative to many of their competitors.

What you need to do now

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative team in a senior leadership role at an organization with such a varied and interesting portfolio. To be considered for this exciting opportunity, please send your resume for consideration right away. All interactions are in the strictest of confidence.
