Facilities Technician/ Warehouse Specialist - 24 Month Contract - Airdrie /Hybrid

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a leading Oil & Gas company based in Alberta. We are currently hiring a Facilities/ Warehouse Specialist to join their team on a 24 Month Contract. This candidate will be required to work in their Airdrie location on a hybrid working model.
Your new role
- Perform all tasks related to the physical receiving of materials, including verification of accuracy and condition.
- Confirm receipt of materials certification and testing documents, retain and file said documentation.
- Organize the layout of the warehouse and storage facilities.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of a wide variety of critical parts, pre-tested pipe, equipment, and supplies.
- Make decisions and recommendations within established guidelines, procedures, or policies.
- Manage and work with contractors and support staff.
- Handle inventory management, including receiving, locating, distribution, inventory cycle counting, annual physical inventories, and obsolescence inventory identification.
- Conduct variance research and associated accounting activities.
- Receive, unload, inspect, identify, store, and issue a wide variety of equipment and supplies.
- Verify correctness of catalogue/inventory numbers, descriptions, quantities, units, and locations, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Update computer software databases to maintain accurate inventory levels and records.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and other job-related equipment.
- Deliver commodities from the warehouse to requestors as necessary.
- Conduct periodic physical inventories by checking records against physical counts, researching, documenting, and communicating any variances.
- Maintain all areas, warehouses, stores, and yards in an organized, neat, and orderly manner, inspecting for and preventing safety hazards.
- File and store archive records.
- Maintain physical inventory locations, properly identifying racks, floors, yards, and stacks with inventory numbers and bin locations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Must have 5+ years of experience
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Technical/trade experience, preferably in an industrial or oil and gas environment.
- Experience in central warehousing or central storekeeping.
- Experience in varied purchasing clerical work.
- 2-8 years of relevant experience.
- Must have forklift experience and provide a copy of the most recent certification (even if expired) with the resume.
- Must have warehouse shipping and receiving experience.
What you'll get in return
This position is offering $40.00 - $44.00 per hour.
