Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom equipment manufacturing for mining and similar applications and has a job open for Fabrication Shop Manager / Machine Shop Foreman for custom machinery manufacturing to oversee Production, Material & Production Planning, Purchasing and vendor Management, Shipping and work closely with Sales and in-house Engineering. This is an expansion role in the West Mississauga-Milton-Guelph area. Hands-on fabrication / machining/ welder experience with 10+ years of running fabrication shops under Canadian H&S requirements is a MUST-have.

The Fabrication Shop Manager / Machine Shop Foreman is fully responsible for giving leadership to the plant shop floor — cutting, bending and welding within this custom fabrication plant and is responsible for Production Planning, Production scheduling, Material Planning and supervising processes in Cutting, Bending, Welding and similar. You will be responsible for scheduling, safety, performance management, coaching and mentoring. You will oversee the shift budget ensure production planning, material planning, production scheduling, shipping receiving. You will work along Plant Engineering Process Improvement for any Continuous Improvement lean initiatives.

Fabrication Shop Manager / Machine Shop Foreman will ideally have 10+ years as a welder/ welder fitter/ machinist with 10+ years as shop foreman / Plant Manager / a minimum of 12–15 years’ leadership experience as production manager within Canadian Health & Safety requirements within custom machining
Welding metal fabrication environment Hands-on welding experience / experienced welder (MIG TIG) with leadership / management/ team lead experience highly preferred.
