User Training Specialist

The User Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for IT support staff. This role involves creating instructional materials, conducting training sessions, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills to provide exceptional support to end-users.

Technical Accountabilities
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues: The IT User Trainer is responsible for diagnosing and fixing hardware and software problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- System maintenance and updates: Regularly updating and maintaining IT systems to ensure they are secure and function efficiently.
- Technical training: Providing training sessions for staff on various IT systems and software applications, ensuring they are proficient in using the tools required for their roles.
- Technical expertise: Extensive knowledge of IT systems, software, and hardware.
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for IT user personnel.
- Conduct training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats.
- Evaluate and assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and observations.
- Develop and maintain training materials and documentation.
- Monitor and report on the progress of trainees, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in IT User technologies.
- Collaborate with IT management to identify areas for improvement in support processes.
Leadership and Managerial Accountabilities
- Team leadership: Leading and mentoring the IT User team, providing guidance and support to ensure they can effectively perform their duties.
- Project management: Overseeing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Performance evaluation: Assessing the performance of IT staff, providing feedback, and implementing improvement plans where necessary.
- Leadership experience: Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
Tools and Systems
- Software management: Ensuring all software used within the organization is properly licensed, up-to-date, and functioning correctly.
- Hardware management: Overseeing the procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware, ensuring it meets the organization's needs.
- System security: Implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect the organization's IT infrastructure from threats.
Other Role-Specific Activities and Accountabilities
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for IT processes, systems, and training materials.
- User support: Providing training to users, helping them resolve any IT-related issues they encounter.
- Continuous improvement: Identifying areas for improvement within the IT department and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project management: Experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Training Experience: Relevant work experience for this position may include prior supervisory roles where mentoring and guiding team members were key responsibilities, customer service positions that honed interpersonal and communication skills, and project management roles that involved planning and executing training programs or technical initiatives.
