Your new role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced 310T Mechanic to join our team from
Monday to Friday on a biweekly rotation (days and afternoons).
You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment used in our metal recycling operations. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety.

What you’re responsible for:
  • Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment used in metal recycling operations
  • Identifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implement effective repair solutions
  • Following established maintenance schedules to perform regular servicing, fluid changes, lubrication, and component replacements
  • Conducting major and minor repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system replacements, and hydraulic system troubleshooting
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including service reports, parts usage, and equipment history in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices in the shop and field environments
  • Coordinating with the Parts Department to order necessary parts, track inventory levels, and ensure the availability of required components for repairs and maintenance

What you'll need to succeed

  • You have a valid 310T Truck and Coach certificate (an asset)
  • You have experience as a 310T Mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty trucking or maintenance environment.
  • You have knowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment components, including engines, transmissions and diagnosis.
  • You have excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • You have the ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and workload
  • You have experience in the metal recycling industry (an asset)
  • You have your own set of hand tools.
