Your New Company
Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a well‑established organization in the higher‑education technology sector (confidential) to hire a Talent Acquisition Specialist for a 6‑month contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys managing a variety of technical and non‑technical searches, and brings a polished, professional approach to candidate experience. You will join a collaborative HR team that values strong communication, structured processes, and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment for multiple active requisitions, including technical roles (network engineering, cybersecurity), corporate roles (procurement), and executive‑level recruitment support.
- Post positions, conduct first‑round screenings, and manage high‑volume candidate flow through the ATS (Humi).
- Organize interview panels, coordinate schedules, and sit in on interviews to support a structured and fair evaluation process.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and provide recruitment best‑practice guidance.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and ensure compliance with human rights legislation and equitable hiring practices.
- Support onboarding activities as needed, including coordination and new‑hire experience delivery.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance recruitment efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring manager support.
What You Need to Succeed
- 3–4 years of dedicated recruitment experience, preferably in a fast‑paced or multi‑disciplinary hiring environment.
- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- Strong understanding of human rights‑based recruitment, fair evaluation practices, and compliance considerations.
- Experience using Humi or similar applicant tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously, including technical roles.
- Exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to support hiring managers with confidence.
- Onboarding experience is an asset.
- IT recruitment experience is beneficial but not required — HR/TA expertise is prioritized.
What’s in It for You
This contract offers an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing organization with several high‑priority roles underway. You’ll gain exposure to a range of technical and leadership searches, collaborate closely with an engaged HR team, and strengthen your talent acquisition portfolio with executive‑level recruitment experience. This role provides competitive hourly compensation, modern recruitment tools (Humi), and a chance to help shape efficient, candidate‑focused hiring practices.
