Opportunity to lead a new build, wood-frame construction project as Superintendent from excavation stage.

Your new company

Our client, a reputable and highly regarded General Contractor is looking to add a Superintendent to their team in the Lower Mainland of BC. Established in the 1970s, this General Contractor operates across BC and Ontario and has a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects. Their philosophy is building lasting relationships with clients, trades and consultants and executing construction with the utmost integrity, trust and commitment. They are looking to add a Superintendent to oversee a wood-frame multifamily building in New Westminster, BC that is about to start.

Your new role

As Superintendent you will oversee the construction of a 6-storey wood frame apartment building comprised of 90 units in New Westminster. Reporting to the Vice President, the role will involve overseeing the site team to ensure quality control, trade coordination, project scheduling, field cost control, safety administration and reporting of the project. You will maintain long-standing positive relationships with several subtrades and consultants which the company has developed over time. Due to the company’s positive reputation amongst vendors and trade partners, their sites are typically well run and staffed, thus making the life of a Superintendent much easier.


What you'll need to succeed

This job requires a minimum of 5+ years of previous experience in a Superintendent role working for either a General Contractor or Developer in Metro Vancouver. A proven track record of delivering multifamily projects successfully is a must. This client is in need of a candidate with a stable work history, excellent communication skills and good trade knowledge. Journeyman carpenter or a related construction qualification is considered an asset.
