Your new role

Primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Life of Mine (LOM) plans, ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of base metals. You will oversee the creation of detailed LOM plans, incorporating geological, geotechnical, and economic data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geology, metallurgy, and environmental departments, to optimize mine design and production schedules. Regular reviews and updates of LOM plans will be conducted to reflect changing conditions and new data. Utilizing advanced mining software and tools to model and simulate mining scenarios, you will provide expert technical support and lead the mentorship of junior engineers and other team members. Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, you will prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Regional expert within the business for LOAP planning and design considerations
  • Prepare studies at the Conceptual and Pre-Feasibility level, seeking to support Mining Projects through optimization, sequencing and operationalization of pits, dimensioning of equipment for the various scenarios and previously defined production scales;
  • Serves as a mentor and support for Senior Engineers and Engineers
  • Prepare mine design and layout studies, seeking flexibility in planning and development throughout the Project’s useful life;
  • Provide study, adaptation and selection of mining methods;
  • Routinely communicates with the leadership in their work
  • Understands the needs of management and other clients
