Hiring a Software QA Analyst - 6 month contract

Your new role

As a Software QA Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through rigorous testing and validation. You’ll define and execute test strategies, design detailed test cases, and work closely with developers, solution experts, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle. This role involves both manual and automated testing, with a focus on performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. You’ll also support testing in cloud-based environments and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience testing complex web-based applications.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with load/performance testing and cloud-based testing environments.
  • Technical proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, Shell scripting, Apache Tomcat, VMware, Windows, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Hands-on experience with mobile and web debugging tools (e.g., Firebug, Charles Proxy, Fiddler).
  • Proficiency in Jira, Git, and mobile testing (iOS/Android).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical services and understanding of highly available architectures.
  • Knowledge of Government of Ontario IT Standards (GO-ITS) is an asset.
