A growing technology organization is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee and elevate its global security operations function. This individual will shape the overall operational strategy, strengthen defensive capabilities, streamline tooling, and ensure high-quality threat detection and response across a multi‑region environment. This position reports into senior leadership and plays a key role in advancing the organization’s overall cybersecurity maturity.

Security Operations Environment

The Security Operations team protects internal and external environments against emerging threats and operates according to a recognized cybersecurity framework. The function is structured around core domains including:

  • Risk Identification – Understanding and assessing cyber risks across systems, data, people, and critical assets.
  • Protection Measures – Establishing controls, safeguards, and mitigation strategies to maintain service integrity.
  • Threat Detection – Implementing processes and automated technologies to identify potential security events.
  • Incident Response – Coordinating procedures, evidence handling, and communication during cyber incidents.
  • Recovery Capabilities – Ensuring resiliency, restoration, and continuity following any security disruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for a global, Security Operations function.
  • Set strategic objectives for operational improvement, capability maturity, and service consistency across regions.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day performance of a 24/7/365 operations environment, ensuring rapid, coordinated response to threats.
  • Evaluate and refine technologies, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and address evolving market and customer needs.
  • Offer technical leadership across areas such as network security, architecture, onboarding workflows, and threat response practices.
  • Develop roadmaps and project plans for capability enhancements, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Drive project execution, risk management, and accountability across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead initiatives related to intrusion monitoring, threat analysis, incident handling, and operational readiness.
  • Introduce new methodologies and operational models tailored to diverse customer environments.
  • Improve documentation, standard operating procedures, and overall process maturity within the security function.
  • Establish strategies that reduce cyber risk and strengthen customer confidence.
  • Deliver both tactical and long-term solutions aligned with customer expectations and business goals.
  • Ensure consistent execution around incident detection, triage, escalation, and communication across all time zones.
  • Optimize resource allocation and identify corrective actions to maintain high operational performance.
  • Provide clear insights, reporting, and recommendations to executive leadership on security operations status and risks.
