Position Summary


The client is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee daily operations on active construction sites. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all specifications and standards. The Site Superintendent will coordinate with Project Managers and site teams to manage resources, resolve challenges, enforce safety protocols, and maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle. Projects include new builds within the ICI sector and government-funded developments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors’ activities to maintain progress and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and update short-term schedules (e.g., two-week look-ahead) to optimize workflow and communicate changes effectively.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, monitor quality, and maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting.
  • Prepare daily progress reports using digital platforms, detailing schedules, productivity, and site conditions.
  • Champion safety by leading toolbox talks and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Organize or deliver training for site personnel on job duties, safety practices, and company procedures.
  • Address unexpected issues such as material delays, design discrepancies, or site constraints promptly and effectively.
  • Review and process change orders, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and assist with minor tasks when necessary to support efficiency and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

Working Environment
  • Field-based role with variable hours depending on project needs.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, and dust; strict compliance with PPE and safety protocols required.
  • Travel to multiple sites and stakeholder meetings may be necessary.
  • Ability to manage pressure and resolve issues quickly to maintain project momentum.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in new build construction, with ICI or government projects.
  • Background in engineering or skilled trades is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to analyze problems, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
