Transportation Engineer | P.Eng | Edmonton

Your new company

Lead multi‑disciplinary transportation programs and major projects, overseeing planning, analysis, and design for roadways, intersections, traffic controls, active transportation, transit, parking, and both functional and detailed design work. Prepare and review transportation engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates while applying solid engineering judgment to create practical, innovative solutions that meet municipal, provincial, and national standards. Serve as Project Manager, Technical Lead, or Subject Matter Expert, ensuring projects stay on schedule and on budget while coordinating with internal teams in civil engineering, land development, geomatics, and landscape architecture. Manage subconsultants, support public engagement, maintain strong relationships with municipal and government clients, and lead proposal pursuits including scope development, scheduling, fee estimation, and broader business development efforts. Represent the firm in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders while mentoring junior staff, supporting their technical development, and contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team environment. Guide quality control processes, participate in technical reviews, help refine internal tools and best practices, and support the company’s market presence through industry involvement and brand‑building activities.


Your new role

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, possess a P.Eng., and be a member in good standing with APEGA or eligible for registration. Bring at least 12 years of transportation engineering experience in a consulting environment, supported by strong technical skills in transportation planning and design, urban design analysis, operational analysis, and relevant standards. Demonstrate proficiency with key tools such as Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, HCS, AutoTURN, and preferably AutoCAD and Civil 3D..Have solid project management capabilities, including experience leading engineering teams, using PM software, coordinating multiple projects, and managing schedules and deliverables. Communicate effectively through clear writing, confident verbal communication, and strong client‑facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Meet required practical criteria, including a valid driver’s license, ability to travel, ability to pass a background check, and proven experience contributing to proposal development.
