Our client is a leading real estate developer and asset manager with over 60 years of experience across Western Canada. The company specializes in commercial and residential development, leasing, and property management, with a portfolio exceeding 2.8 million square feet. This Owner Developer is known for its long-standing relationships and commitment to creating long-term value for tenants, partners, and communities. Their operations have predominantly been within the Alberta market, but the company has branched into BC in recent years and owns various land holdings on Vancouver Island. With this expansion into BC, they are looking to add a Senior Superintendent to join their team.

As Senior Superintendent, you will lead all aspects of development projects coming up for the Vancouver Island portfolio. These developments include a major upgrade to an existing commercial/retail site in Duncan and then a new 6-acre commercial/retail site in Campbell River. The company also has an 8-acre commercial/retail and residential site in Sooke currently under development, which this person will subsequently move on to. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification, coordinating daily site operations, and liaising with stakeholders, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers. Your role will be critical in maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety compliance. Due to the geographic logistics of these developments, the successful candidate will need to be open to a rotational work arrangement, depending on where they are located.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent leading projects for either a General Contractor or Developer-Builder in the local market. A proven track record of managing commercial or institutional new builds is essential. Experience with Tilt-Up, Pre-engineered, or Structural Steel construction is a strong asset. A background in carpentry or formal education in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. This role requires advanced problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and effective leadership skills.
