Your New Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer (P.Eng), you will take a leadership role in guiding structural engineering projects from concept through completion for a wide range of industrial applications. Acting as Engineer of Record, you will oversee structural designs, conduct condition assessments, support proposals and scope development, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams. You will also play a key part in mentoring junior staff and elevating the structural engineering practice within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for industrial facilities, equipment supports, buildings, foundations, and slabs
- Serve as Professional of Record (POR), overseeing and reviewing all technical deliverables
- Conduct structural condition assessments and provide rehabilitation recommendations
- Support proposal development with structural scopes, estimates, and optimized workflows
- Perform seismic analysis and design for new and existing structures
- Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and drafters
- Oversee document reviews, drawing certifications, and field reviews according to provincial quality guidelines
- Coordinate project scope, schedule, and quality requirements
- Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to align technical objectives
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation including calculations, reports, RFIs, and assurance letters
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; licensed P.Eng in BC for a minimum of 2 years
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally within industrial, consulting, EPC, or EPCM environments
- Advanced knowledge of structural steel and concrete design
- Experience with condition assessments and remediation strategies
- Strong understanding of estimating and scoping engineering and construction activities
- Familiarity with provincial engineering quality management guidelines
- Proficiency with structural codes such as CSA S16, BCBC, and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Experience with seismic design and both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Experience with structural analysis software (experience with Autodesk ROBOT considered an asset)
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team‑coordination skills
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle
- Eligibility to work in Canada
