Your new role

This organization is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join its team (Hybrid: 3 days from home). Reporting to the Project Accounting Manager, you will oversee project accounting and reporting for a portfolio of real estate development projects at various stages. This role has become available due to an internal promotion.
  • Cash Flow Management & Forecasting: Prepare bi-monthly project cash flow projections, incorporating budget assumptions, financing, and sales data. Analyze legal agreements to ensure projections align with contractual obligations.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Develop detailed bi-monthly project status reports, including profitability, timelines, and variance analysis. Ensure all schedules and reports are accurate, complete, and supported by documentation.
  • Year-End Financial Preparation: Compile and review year-end financial working papers for corporate accounting. Investigate and explain significant variances, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Partner Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present monthly financial reports for project partners, aligned with partnership agreements. Lead discussions in partner meetings, addressing financial projections and project updates.
  • Loan Draw Review & Compliance: Review monthly loan draw requests for accuracy and compliance with legal and financial models. Track project costs against budgets and investigate significant discrepancies.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience in project accounting or financial analysis, preferably in real estate or construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for financial modelling.
