Your New Role
As an Intermediate Mechanical Designer/Engineer, you will play a key role in the design team, supporting senior engineers and project managers. You’ll be responsible for preparing mechanical system drawings for renovations and new construction, conducting site inspections, and performing heating and cooling load calculations. You’ll also contribute to system selection, coordination with other disciplines, and construction administration tasks.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Education: Diploma in Mechanical/Building Systems Technology or a Bachelor’s in Mechanical EngineeringExperience: 5–8 years in building systems design within the consulting engineering industryTechnical Skills:Proficiency in HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and fire protection systemsStrong Revit MEP and BIM coordination experienceFamiliarity with HAP, E-Quest, and energy modeling tools (e.g., IES, RETScreen)Working knowledge of OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, and related standardsSoft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal abilitiesHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple prioritiesA collaborative mindset with the ability to work independentlyWillingness to continue learning and adapt to evolving industry practices
