Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and working closely with the Operations leadership team at a manufacturing facility, you will oversee day‑to‑day HR and Labour Relations activities. Your responsibilities will include handling investigations, supporting talent acquisition, ensuring policy adherence, managing employee relations, and contributing to performance management, providing comprehensive support to employees across various HR functions.

  • Participate in collective agreement negotiations, assist in mediating labour disputes and grievances, and provide guidance on employee and labour relations matters.
  • Lead and conduct internal workplace investigations.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and offer support on HR‑related issues.
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR, the HR team, and business leaders to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and organizational strategy.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies, programs, and strategies that promote growth and retention.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and managers on HR topics, escalating complex cases to the Director of HR.
  • Manage day‑to‑day employee and labour relations, including complaint resolution and disciplinary processes.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively to team efforts.
  • Support recruitment for hourly and salaried roles and assist with onboarding activities for hiring managers.
  • Participate in other HR projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation or working toward it, is considered an asset.
  • 5–10 years of specialized HR/LR experience in a hands‑on HR role.
  • Experience within a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Labour legislation.
  • Solid business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Results‑driven, proactive, and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Strong professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Salary: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
