Senior Corporate Actions Analyst

Our client is responsible for managing investments for various public sector pension plans, endowments, and government funds in Alberta.
Your new role

Research, analyze and validate corporate action information and disseminate critical and relevant information to other areas of such as Portfolio Managers, Treasury Management, Valuations, Performance and Data Management.
Be the technical expert in the daily administration and processing of complex corporate actions such as Mergers, Acquisitions, Spin-offs, Redemptions, Rights Offerings and Exercises in the North American, EAFE and Emerging Markets. The end goal is to become the Subject-Matter Expert in the corporate actions area.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Mathematics or another related field supplemented by designations such as CSC or CFA
4+ years of related experience in corporate actions processing within a financial institution, investment bank, or asset manager.
Advanced understanding of financial markets, institutional asset management, investment regulations, complex investment strategies, investment process and best practices relating to internal controls and procedures
In-depth knowledge of current industry settlement practices plus familiarity with various investment products
Analytical abilities are needed to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively to solution problems and resolve challenges in a timely manner.
Comfortable multitasking, while completing work with a high attention to detail.
Demonstrates a strong commitment
