Sr. Corporate Actions Analyst - 6 Month Contract (Potential for Extension) - 100% Remote

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a leading investment company based in Alberta. We are currently hiring a Sr. Corporate Actions Analyst to join their team on a contract basis of 6 months, which has the possibility of extension. This position has the opportunity to work fully remotely.
Your new role
- Research, analyze, and validate corporate action information; disseminate relevant updates to internal teams including Portfolio Managers, Treasury, Valuations, and Performance.
- Act as the technical expert in processing complex corporate actions (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, redemptions, rights offerings) across North American, EAFE, and Emerging Markets.
- Oversee daily trade processing activities and maintain the Corporate Actions Tracking System.
- Develop and enhance workflows and business processes with strong internal controls.
- Ensure accurate transaction booking in financial accounting systems to support timely NAV calculations.
- Coordinate procedures to improve efficiency and control in daily operations.
- Support new initiatives and projects within the corporate actions domain.
- Stay current with market and regulatory changes affecting corporate actions.
- Provide training and ensure business continuity during peak periods or staff absences.
- Manage class action claims, including validation, filing, and payment allocation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as CSC or CFA are considered assets.
- Minimum4+ years of experience in corporate actions processing within a financial institution, investment bank, or asset manager.
- Advanced understanding of financial markets, investment regulations, and institutional asset management.
- Familiarity with industry settlement practices and various investment products.
- Experience with SCD investment accounting systems is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
