Your new role
In this role you will be joining an existing Building Operations team as the Senior Building Operator. You will be responsible for looking after a commercial office building in Downtown Vancouver. You will be reporting to the Property Manager for this portfolio as well as the Operations Management team. As the senior Operator you will act as a mentor to junior Building Operators. You will be responsible for ensuring the building is upheld to the highest standards and to the satisfaction of the tenants. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Fostering a positive tenant experience by responding to work orders, maintaining accurate tenant logs and records, assisting with move-ins & move-outs, and responding to inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct daily inspections and perform regular and preventative maintenance including minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reporting.
  • Communicate and coordinate with contractors, ensure they are maintaining compliance and oversee their work.
  • Obtain and review quotes from contractors and provide building orientation.
  • Manage Building Management Systems (BMS) such as building access.
  • Availability for emergency on call rotation.
What you'll need to succeed
  • 5+ years’ commercial Building Operations or Building Maintenance experience.
  • 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certification is an asset. Maintenance Management education is also valuable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ideally has experience handling an Operational Budget.
  • Experience with Building Management systems: Angus, DDC, HVAC systems are all assets.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle and be able to provide a clean driver's abstract.
