Job Type: Contract (6 month + Possible extension)

Our client, a very well-known crown corporation client looking to hire Sr BI Developer.

Your New Role:

Your responsibilities will include providing support services such as root-cause identification, debugging, training, and consultation for any business intelligence or reporting-related concerns. Additionally, your role will involve developing data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes. Collaborating with developers, data architects, and data engineers, you will design and implement scalable and reliable data products on cloud platforms. You will work closely with stakeholders and end-users to design, build, and maintain cuttingedge BI and data development solutions, driving insights, automating tasks, clarifying processes, and ensuring data accuracy across the business. A significant part of your role will support the transformation efforts to migrate the source system to modern data platform. It will also involve coaching teams on the optimal usage of data, analytics, and visualizations and assisting users in locating the required information

Responsibilities:
• You will monitor and maintain the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance.

• Develop data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes.

• Design and implement data processing workflows that are highly optimized for their cloud native environment.

• Collaborate with developers, data architects, and business analysts to design and implement scalable and reliable data products on cloud platforms.

• Re-design, optimize legacy SQL-based Power BI reports using Azure Databricks; create new Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports.

• Utilize Github Copilot to write more efficient, optimized code

What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Analytics)

• 3 + years of professional experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.

• 3 or more years of designing, developing and deploying business intelligence solutions and reports using Microsoft

Power BI.
• Experience with Cloud Platform services such as Azure

• Experience working with DevOps pipelines continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing (unit, functional,

performance)

• Expert coding skills in Python, SQL and knowledge of software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and

deployment.
• 3 years demonstrated experience using Databricks, Pyspark and python

Nice To Have
•
Experience in data modeling and Data transformation technologies such as dbt will be an asset.

• Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience is an asset.

Experience with Github Copilot for development
•
Experience in Investment Management, Banking, or Finance industry
