Our client, a well-established full-service architecture and interior design firm, is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their expanding Calgary-based team. With a specialization in mixed-use, commercial, and institutional architecture, they consistently deliver built environments that reflect a strong commitment to sustainability, contextual sensitivity, and design excellence.

Your new role

In this job your role and responsibilities will include; will be responsible for preparing comprehensive documentation to guide projects from concept through to completion. This includes producing high-quality technical content and detailed drawings that uphold the design intent, coordinating with consultants and team members to ensure accuracy and timely delivery, and supporting contract administration during construction. The role also involves performing code analysis, contributing to quality control procedures, researching construction materials, and managing project documentation. The technologist will troubleshoot complex production issues, stay current with industry practices and technologies, and develop detailed Revit models. Active client communication is essential to ensure alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Additionally, the technologist will lead the development and review of design development and contract documents, attend coordination and site meetings, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will possess a minimum of 8 years of project work experience (ideally commercial & mixed-use) and impressive technical knowledge. You will be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other design software. Proven experience as project lead on small to medium-sized projects and support role on larger projects. A solid understanding of MEP and structural building system and building codes is required.

The successful candidate will receive a compensation package of $80k-90K (dependent on experience) + benefits and the week off over Christmas.
