Hays has partnered with a full-service architecture & interior design firm specializing in hospitality and interiors projects who is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their team. Their portfolio showcases a diverse range of projects across North America, each one created by a collaborative team of creative individuals. Your new role

In your role, your duties and responsibilities will include: overseeing the technical drawing stage, coordinating construction drawings and permit submissions, developing technical alternatives as needed. Ensure that drawings comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Interpreting Building Codes and AHJ comments and develop the appropriate response. Provide insight on building envelope at various stages of the project and assist the team in developing project schedules. Ensuring the quality assurance and quality control of tender and permit documentation. Review consultant drawings and designs, identify coordination issues, and provide advice and insights both design & technical. Collaborate with other team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Mentoring and overseeing the work of the junior and intermediate technologists. Keep up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have minimum of 8 – 10 years of architectural / interiors experience. Prior hospitality, interior design and tenant improvement experience is required. You will have an Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent. You must have strong proficiency AutoCAD, experience with Revit is an asset. Experience managing a project from conception to completion is ideal. You will be a team player, have excellent attention to detail and strong communications skills.
