Our client, an architecture powerhouse, and a large multi-discipline firm is looking to add an Architectural Designer to their team in Calgary working on multifamily residential projects. With decades of experience in the industry & multiple award recognitions for sustainability, design, planning & development this is a special opportunity to make an impact on the built environment. Your team will be compromised of architects, engineers, planners, and interior designers that work collaboratively across various market sectors.


Your new role

In this job your role and responsibilities will include; developing architectural designs that align with quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints, while coordinating design intent across multiple disciplines. The position requires integrating engineering inputs, site surveys, and field review data, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and jurisdictional regulations. Responsibilities also include preparing design reports, drawings, and models in accordance with office standards, conducting site visits to verify construction compliance, and addressing any deviations in collaboration with owners and contractors. Additionally, the role involves reviewing project deliverables, services, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with project documentation, regulatory codes, and internal quality control standards.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will possess a minimum of 7 years of project work experience (ideally multifamily high rise & concrete and wood frame) and impressive design skills. You will be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other design sottware. Being registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset but not required. A solid understanding of MEP and structural building system and building codes is required.
