Your new role

As Tax Director, you will lead complex tax engagements and provide strategic guidance to clients on corporate tax matters, reorganizations, and estate planning. This leadership role involves managing high-level projects, advising on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance while fostering strong client relationships. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and lead team members, either through direct or dotted-line reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee corporate tax planning and compliance.
  • Lead reorganizations and provide advisory on complex structures.
  • Offer expertise in estate planning (considered an asset).
  • Collaborate with partners and senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure timely delivery of client solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • CPA designation with a minimum of 4+ years of progressive tax experience (corporate tax focus).
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and ASNPO standards and experience with not-for-profit accounting.
  • Proven experience in corporate tax, reorganizations, and exposure to estates.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client management skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Hamilton, ON at least 4 days per week.
