Your New Role
As the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Taxation, you will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Tax and play a key role in the preparation of financial reporting, fund accounting, and tax-related activities for a portfolio of investment funds and development properties.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Recording month-end journal entries, capital transactions, and other financial adjustments for investment funds and development properties
  • Preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting purposes
  • Assisting with investor reporting and the preparation of reporting packages for external stakeholders
  • Monitoring cash activity and preparing investor distributions and other payments
  • Coordinating audit and tax working paper files and liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Reviewing invoice coding and allocations across multiple entities and funds
  • Working closely with management and third-party financial information providers
  • Supporting ad hoc reporting requests, analysis, and special projects
  • Assisting with departmental initiatives and process improvements as required
This position provides significant exposure to real estate, development accounting, fund accounting, acquisitions, and financial reporting, with a clear pathway toward a future management opportunity.

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this position, you will possess:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
  • CPA designation or active enrolment in the CPA program required
  • Experience within real estate, investment management, private equity, or fund accounting environments considered an asset
  • OR
  • Experience within a large public accounting firm with clients in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and audit processes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Yardi is considered an asset

  • Base salary of $85,000 - $95,000
