Enterprise Security Awareness & Relations Specialist
Role summary:
The Enterprise Security Awareness & Relations Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive security awareness program that promotes a strong security culture across TC Energy. This role leads initiatives (e.g., Social Engineering to manage human risk, strengthen employee understanding of security best practices and threat behaviours, and supports senior leadership reporting. Additionally, this role fosters strong relationships across the organization to advance Enterprise Security (ES) messaging, while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset to evolve program effectiveness.
Key responsibilities:
Senior Leadership Reporting:
• Develop reports to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
o This includes collaborating with ES Leadership and subject matter experts as required.
• Develop quarterly Enterprise Security updates for Vice-Presidents across TC Energy.
o Drive ongoing improvements in the format and delivery of these meetings in collaboration with ES VP.
o Document meeting minutes and ensure follow-up on action items.
• Develop Enterprise Security briefing notes for senior leadership.
Awareness & Communication:
• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of company-wide Enterprise Security Awareness initiatives, e.g., Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
• Develop and drive TC Energy’s Social Engineering Program through both strategic objectives and tactical execution, including ensuring .
• Lead annual review and update of the company-wide Enterprise Security Awareness training course.
• Promote a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
• Measure effectiveness of awareness and training using metrics and dashboards and report results to leadership.
• Stay current on emerging threats and trends to inform awareness strategies.
• Oversee external Enterprise Security messaging, including updates to the Enterprise Security 1TC website, 1TC announcements and external ES presentations.
• Create and publish external Enterprise Security updates, such as the Year in Review and Enterprise Security Round-Up articles.
• Develop urgent briefing notes or communications in response to security incidents.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Security teams to build communication templates for rapid response.
• Identify and continuously improve communication gaps.
• Regularly monitor Enterprise Security mailbox and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain a strong relationship with Corporate Communications department.
Stakeholder Relations:
• Manage stakeholder feedback, concerns and expectations, and relay information internally with recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to embed and advance ES messaging and initiatives across TC Energy.
• Support VP of ES in building strong relationships with VPs and ELT.
Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge and experience in security awareness, training, communication or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to interpret data and metrics to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness.
• Ability to translate technical, complex subject matter into clear, compelling and understandable messaging for diverse audiences
