Are you passionate about workplace safety and ready to make a meaningful impact? We’re seeking a dedicated Safety Advisor to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. This role reports directly to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager and works closely with local operational leadership to ensure a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Your new role

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and update hazard assessments for ongoing and new activities.
  • Develop and revise Safe Job Procedures and Safe Work Practices.
  • Lead and support incident investigations and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Monitor and coach field-level hazard assessments.
  • Develop Exposure Control Plans and support environmental compliance.
  • Oversee subcontractor safety assessments and orientations.
  • Deliver safety training and conduct emergency drills.
  • Support Return-to-Work (RTW) programs and young worker monitoring.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings and maintain safety documentation.
  • Act as a key resource for safety-related inquiries and initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety-related role; construction or traffic control experience is an asset.
  • Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
  • Professional Safety Designation (or ability to obtain) is essential.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
  • COR Auditor Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
  • Environmental training or experience is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
