Proposal Writer – Construction

Your new company

We’ve partnered with an established full-service construction contractor operating across the Greater Toronto Area, known for delivering high-quality commercial, residential, and institutional projects. The organization offers a collaborative, safety-first culture and takes pride in disciplined planning, strong coordination, and consistently exceeding client expectations. Due to continued growth, the company is seeking a Proposal Writer to join their team, based out of their Brampton office.

Your new role

As the Proposal Writer, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of proposal and tender submissions, from reviewing bid documentation through to final submission. You will prepare complete, compliant, and compelling proposals for public and private sector projects, ensuring all client requirements, deadlines, and formatting standards are met.
In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Executives, and Business Development to gather technical content, project details, and pricing information. You will draft and edit written narratives such as executive summaries, methodologies, safety and quality statements, company profiles, and relevant project experience. The Proposal Writer will manage electronic procurement platforms, track bid schedules, maintain a centralized proposal library, and ensure all submissions are professionally presented and submitted on time.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal writing, bid coordination, or project management within a general contracting or construction environment. You will have a strong understanding of construction tendering processes, drawings, and specifications, along with experience preparing RFPs and RFQs from start to finish.
You will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic procurement platforms such as Merx, Biddingo, City of Toronto, or Infrastructure Ontario. Experience with design tools such as Canva or InDesign is considered an asset.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll receive a competitive compensation package aligned with your experience, including benefits, paid time off, and company events. You’ll be joining a supportive, professional team that values collaboration, accountability, and long-term growth.
