Property Accountant
Vancouver- ONSITE
4 Month Contract
$30-35 hourly

Your new role
- Support day-to-day property accounting activities for assigned properties (journal entries, accruals, general ledger coding, and basic account reconciliations).
- Assist with month-end close, including trial balance review support, preparation of supporting schedules, and follow-up on outstanding items.
- Prepare and/or support monthly reporting, including budget-to-actual variance analysis and basic commentary for internal stakeholders.
- Generate, review, and reconcile rent roll and related reports in Yardi; support rent roll posting and validation.
- Support accounts receivable and payable processes (posting charges, reviewing AR aging, assisting with collections follow-ups, and processing invoices/payments as assigned).
- Assist with lease set-up and maintenance in Yardi to align with lease terms (rent charges, security deposits, recoveries/CAM where applicable, TI/LLW obligations where applicable).
- Maintain and update schedules such as CAPEX/other amortization schedules and other recurring supporting schedules as assigned.
- Provide Yardi support to internal users (e.g., pulling reports, answering basic “how-to” questions, and troubleshooting common issues).
- Development accounting support (as needed): assist with tracking development/project costs, job cost reporting support, and maintaining project cost summaries; support draw/cost reporting activities.
- Assist with GST tracking support and preparation of information required for monthly/quarterly/yearly filings as assigned.
What you'll need to succeed
- Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in a property accounting, development accounting, or related accounting role (co-op/internship experience considered).
- Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager (required).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (reconciliations and basic formulas).
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations).
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and dedication to quality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
- Exposure to residential and/or mixed-use property accounting, rent roll processes, or lease administration is an asset.
- Exposure to development/project cost tracking or job cost reporting is an asset.
