Your new company

We are working with a well-established organization within the real estate and property management sector, looking for a Property Accountant to support full-cycle accounting for a diverse property portfolio. This role is ideal for someone detail‑focused, structured, and comfortable operating in a fast‑moving property management environment. You will collaborate closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller to deliver accurate reporting and smooth month‑end processes.


Your new role

  • Handling move‑in accounting, including lease setup, review, and activation.
  • Maintaining accurate rent rolls (units, parking, storage, ancillary income).
  • Posting tenant payments and adjustments in Yardi.
  • Managing NSF processes, fees, and reporting.
  • Performing move‑out accounting, including security deposit reconciliations.
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations for multiple operating and trust accounts.
  • Reconciling A/R, A/P and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly journal entries and accruals.
  • Supporting month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
  • Assisting with revenue/expense variance analysis.
  • Maintaining complete and organized working papers.
  • Coding and reconciling corporate credit card transactions.
  • Assisting with annual budget development.
  • Supporting compliance reviews for acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Contributing to additional accounting duties as required.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Post‑secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience within real estate or property management.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, accruals, and close processes.
  • Exposure to budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Experience with accounting systems; Yardi Voyager strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline.
  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
