Your new company

We are working with a social purpose real estate developer focused on creating communities people are proud to call home, based in Vancouver. This role is in a hybrid environment, taking on a portfolio of 6-7 residential properties consisting of approximately 500 units.

Your new role

• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for assigned portfolio
• Reconcile intercompany transactions, bank accounts, accounts receivable/payable, and general ledger entries.
• Record journal entries and perform month-end adjustments and account reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis and provide insights.
• Compile and maintain comprehensive month-end and year-end working papers.
• Respond to internal and external requests for financial information, support audit processes, and review financial statements.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to gather, investigate, and verify financial data.
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented with complete and accurate supporting information.
• Assist in the development, preparation, and presentation of operating budgets.
• Perform additional finance-related tasks as assigned by the department.

What you'll need to succeed

• Completion of post-secondary education in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• 2+ years' experience in full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within the real estate sector.
• Strong preference for candidates with professional or academic exposure to the real estate and non-market housing sectors, particularly co-operative housing.
• Proficient in accounting software and data entry; hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager and Sage 300 is considered an asset.
